    Detectives from TITAN, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), supported by Merseyside Police, have arrested six men and seized cash and other items following an operating targeting suspected drug supply this morning, Thursday 11 January 2018.



    This morning, officers carried out a coordinated strike day across Merseyside, with eight warrants carried out at addresses in Fazakerley, Huyton, West Derby and Haydock.

    Further warrants were carried out at addresses in Widnes, Cheshire and Waltham Abbey in Essex.

    At the Essex property, a cannabis farm and high-powered air weapons were recovered.

    A 57-year-old from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering
    A 45-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of money laundering
    A 30-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of money laundering
    A 64-year-old man from Waltham Abbey, Essex was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs
    A 60-year-old man from Widnes was arrested suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs
    A 56-year-old man from West Derby was arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine
    All six people will be taken to police stations for questioning by detectives.

    The following items were seized: cash, high-value clothing, electrical goods and vehicles.

    TITAN Detective Inspector Nick Hughes said: "TITAN is committed to tackling the blight of drugs on our streets and has already had many successes in disrupting the supply of drugs across the North West.

    "We will continue, with the support of police forces across the North West and beyond, to target those suspected of being involved in the supply and distribution of drugs, and put them before the courts.

    "Today's action is a continuation of a long-running and complex operation in relation to suspected heroin and cocaine supply and money laundering offences, which we have been investigating since May 2017.

    "I would encourage anyone with information on serious and organised crime across the region to speak to your local force or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

    This is excellent work by the Police, drugs, and those who deal in them are the driving force of petty crime and burglary. More serious are drug wars between gangs which are responsible for knife and gun crimes.
