Merseyside Police is again appealing for information to help trace a missing 50-year-old man from Kirkby, Merseyside, after his black Renault Megan car was located in Ambleside.

Colin Bamber was last seen on 3 January 2018, on Tithebarn Lane, Kirkby.

Extensive enquiries have been ongoing to locate him since.

He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of slim build, with a bald head and a tattoo on his right arm.

When he was last seen Colin was wearing blue tracksuit bottoms, and a grey fleece. Colin is known to frequent the Southport Promenade, Crosby Marina and Burbo Bank areas and also the Cumbria area.

Police officers are making extensive efforts to find Colin and return him home safely and would urge Colin, anyone who knows his whereabouts, or who has seen a man resembling him to call police on the 101 number.

Merseyside man, Colin Bamber has been missing from Kirkby in Liverpool since 3 January. After his car was recovered from Ambleside in the Lake District, it was believed that the 50 year old had travelled to Cumbria, although his whereabouts are still unknown.

Colin’s family and friends who have been searching tirelessly for him over the last six weeks have organised a large-scale search of the Ambleside area, to take place on Sunday 25 February.

The search will meet at Rydal Hall in Ambleside and will take place from 10.30am – 6.30pm.

Members of the community are encouraged to help in any way they can. The organisers are looking for volunteers with first aid training and map reading experience, as well as general searchers.

However, it is stressed that all volunteers must register their interest in advance of the search on Sunday. A post on the ‘Missing Colin Bamber’ Facebook page reads: “…The search will be safely organised, your safety and well-being is paramount, please do not just turn up, we have to know who is there.”
