An elderly man was lucky to escape with minor injuries after his car rolled into a field in Staining.



The incident happened last night at around 7:15pm

Firefighters from Blackpool used cutting equipment to free the man from the vehicle, which had come off the road whilst travelling along Chain Lane.

When crews arrived at the scene they found one person had already managed to get out.

Nobody was seriously injured.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue released this statement:

One fire engine from Blackpool and one from South Shore attended a road traffic collision involving one car in Staining, Blackpool. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found one car in a field with one person still inside. Firefighters used cutting equipment to release the person from the car. Their condition is not known. One person had already managed to get out of the car by the time crews arrived at the scene.
