Last Wednesday (8th March) Lancashire police posted a message urging parents to remain vigilant following two reports that a man had posed as a health visitor in Blackpool.

Following enquiries and as a result of an appeal, police have confirmed the people were in fact employees from a market research company conducting surveys.

This person did not enter the properties and did not have any contact with children.

Police say they are satisfied that there was no intent to commit a crime or gain access to children.
