The High Sheriff of Lancashire has praised Blackpool Transport for its massive investment in new buses.

John Barnett MBE DL asked bosses at the company if he could tour the new fleet ahead of their official launch on Blackpool Tower Headland on Sunday 9th April.

Mr Barnett is in his final week in office in the historic role, and one of his final duties has been to visit BTS Headquarters at Rigby Road.

He said “I wanted to see the magnificent work that is being done at Blackpool Transport to renew the fleet. This represents massive investment for the town. Blackpool Transport has been at the heart of the town’s heritage. Now the company also has a very bright future with its brand new ADL Enviro 400 City vehicles”

Blackpool Transport Managing Director Jane Cole said “We are thrilled that John wanted to come and see our new Palladium buses which are already making a massive impact across the Fylde Coast”

Blackpool Transport Services will officially unveil 15 of the 25 brand new Enviro400 City buses on Sunday 9th April 2017 on the Tower Headland.

Finished in the instantly recognisable ‘Palladium’ brand, the buses offer free Wi-Fi, USB charging points, social seating on the upper deck and next stop audio/visual announcements amongst other features.

Improved seating on the upper saloon means that families, children and adults alike can make better use of their travel time with seats grouped around 3 tables.

It brings the total number of Palladium branded vehicles so far to 54, of which 35 are the brand new double deckers.
