Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man from Blackpool.

Simon Marx, 42, died in Fethiye, Turkey, on October 8th after travelling there for a holiday the previous night.
However, he had been involved in an altercation at the Newton Arms in Staining at around 12.20am on October 7th. A post-mortem has since established he died from a blunt head trauma and Police believe this was sustained during the altercation in Staining.
Detectives are now treating his death as suspicious and would like to speak to anybody who was in the Newton Arms between 11pm on Friday October 6th and 12.30am on Saturday October 7th.
They would also like to speak to anybody who saw or spoke to Mr Marx, either face-to-face or on the phone, on Saturday October 7th before he flew to Turkey.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Willis, of Blackpool Police, said: “First and foremost our thoughts are with Mr Marx’s family and friends, who are being supported by specialist officers at this incredibly difficult time.
“Mr Marx’s body has now been repatriated and a post-mortem carried out. As a result of its findings we have launched a murder investigation.
“We are now asking anybody who was in the Newton Arms between 11pm and 12.30am on the night in question to get in touch with us as soon as possible. You may not think you saw anything significant, but we would urge you to contact us anyway as you may know or have seen more than you think.
“Similarly, we would like to speak to anybody who had any contact with Mr Marx on October 8th. Again, you may not think you have anything significant to tell us, but we would ask you to contact us anyway.â€
Four people have since been arrested on suspicion of murder. Three men, aged 29, 54 and 29 have been bailed until November 1st and a fourth man aged 58 has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
