With more high winds forecast, the Friends of the Sefton Coast volunteers could be busy in the next week or two, tackling tidal debris.
Driftwood, seaweed and shells are all great when they wash up and should be left in place - these things all improve the tideline habitat for invertebrates and the birds (and amphibians) that feed on them - but plastics and other debris can also come ashore in depressingly large amounts.
If you'd like to join the Friends of the Sefton Coast for a beach clean at Ainsdale, a number of monthly events are planned for the coming months.
Litter picking events will take place on:
Friday, March 16th, 1-3pm.
Friday, April 27th, 10.30am-1pm.
Friday, May 25th, 10.30am-1pm.
Friday, June 22nd, 10.30am-1pm.
Meeting point for these events is Ainsdale Discovery Centre, The Promenade, Ainsdale. PR8 2QB.
For more details about becoming a Friends of the Sefton Coast volunteer, please call Sefton's coast and countryside team on 0151 934 2967.

Or how about our parasitic council actually does what its supposed to do and uses the money it extorts from the victims who are conned into parking on the beach for parking in a mud bath of filth and garbage and cleans the mess up itself.instead of being a parasite and expecting the people who it extorts an obscene amount of money from in council tax which is supposed to pay for the maintenance of the beach.

Surely weekends or evenings would result in more volunteers being forthcoming.
Most people are earning a living on a Friday daytime.
