Merseyside Police has issued a photograph of a quantity of jewellery found in a Formby park in a bid to reunite it with its owner.



A jewellery bag was discovered by a member of the public at around 7.30am on Monday 13th March, in Duke Street Park in Formby.

An investigation is ongoing to establish if the jewellery was accidentally dropped or stolen in a burglary and officers have issued a photograph in an effort to trace the owner.

The jewellery includes brooches, necklaces and earrings.

Anyone who recognises the jewellery or has any information about who it belongs to is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 3442.

Was the smooth jawed wrench part of the find? The jewellery is all quite old and as such the owner may not know it's missing.

This picture along with the story screams dead wife to me, maybe she died years ago and some guy is cleaning the old tat out of his shed or maybe that's the old tat thrown away and the murder weapon gone.
Lets hope its a burglary and the robbers hid their booty along with the tool they used and the lady is alive and well and reunited with her treasure.
