The railway service between Preston and Blackpool will be closed for ten weekends from 21 January.

Bus replacement services will operate during these weekends and passengers are urged to plan ahead and check before travelling at www.nationalrail.co.uk.

During the closures, work will take place to renew tracks and drainage in the Poulton and Salwick areas. The tracks at Poulton-le-Fylde station need to be lowered beneath Breck Road bridge and work to the platforms will be carried out to prepare the station for an electrified railway from May 2018.

The land used for car parking in Poulton will be temporality closed while new drainage is installed. This will reopen on or before 4 March 2017.

Network Rail will keep lineside neighbours informed about disruptive work through postal updates and public drop-in events throughout the project.

The first drop-in event will take place on Monday 16 January at Poulton Civic Centre, Breck Road between 4-7pm. Local residents and passengers will be able to find out what to expect and ask questions about the work.
