Thousands and thousands of visitors have enjoyed looking at a very different type of duck, designed by the world-famous Aardman studios, at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre. Dusty Duck arrived in mid-October at WWT Martin Mere and he has become a very popular attraction – but there is only a few weeks left to come and see him before he flies off to WWT Arundel on 9 January.

And it’s not just one Dusty that has been appearing at Martin Mere – there are 14 GIANT 6 ft Dusty Ducks for the public to discover on a special trail, each designed by a celebrity, including a range of CBBC and CBeebies stars based at Salford’s media city. These are:

“As a reporter and presenter on CBBC’s Newsround I know just how important it is to inspire kids to care about important issues in a fun way! I’m really happy that I have had the chance to help design Supergirl Dusty Duck as part of WWT’s Celebrity Dusty Duck trail. It is a light-hearted way to get kids wanting to protect nature for the future – one of the most important issues of our times!â€

“The response we have had to Dusty Duck has been amazing. The giant Dusty Ducks look fantastic in amongst our real life wildlife. Kids (and big kids) love all the different wild and wacky Dusty Ducks each designed by a well known celebrity with their own take on Dusty Duck. The trail is a great way to get children out and about while having fun.â€
