This week we have seen a number of incidents of people self-evacuating from trains stranded due to the exceptional weather.

Whilst we totally understand it isn’t pleasant being trapped on a train, you are far safer on board. Self-evacuating from trains is never a good idea as it places you and others at significant risk. You are risking your life trespassing on live tracks.

Further delays are also inevitable if people self-evacuate as power has to be turned off for safety reasons.

If the bad weather continues, and you are stranded on board a train, please stay on board and wait for further announcements.

Do not leave the train unless you are told to by a member of rail staff or the emergency services. We know where you are and will provide every effort to assist you as soon as possible.

We are working to improve the provision of information and announcements in the event of a stranded service and to help manage any significant disruption.

It's clear that communication will help avoid passenger action in these extreme circumstances.

Then get your collective acts together and don't leave people for lengthy periods trapped in a stationary train without information or support!

It wouldn't happen with a Guard on board.

When they finally manage to get shot of the Guards and the driver is taken ill then there will be a lot MORE trains stuck in the middle of nowhere with no information. Nationalise them and get rid of morons like the grinning goon Branson having anything to do with anything on the Railway.
