Prime Minister Theresa May spoke with French President Macron and US President Trump.

    A Downing Street spokesperson said:

The Prime Minister has taken two telephone calls today from other world leaders.

The French President Emmanuel Macron called to congratulate the Prime Minister, and said he was pleased that she would continue to be a close partner. The President invited the Prime Minister to visit France at the earliest possible opportunity, and they agreed that the strong friendship between our two countries was important and would endure.

The US President Donald Trump called the Prime Minister to offer his congratulations. Both sides agreed they look forward to continuing the close cooperation between our two countries.

    Congratulate her for what?
She didn't win, and forming a coalition with the DUP to stay in power is a very controversial move.

Sure the Tories are the largest single party, but going from a PM expecting to sweep into power like a Roman Emperor, yet has to sign up with a very dubious bunch in order to cling to power, doesn't sound much like a win to me.

A shame if none of the leaders didn't take the privileged opportunity to laugh uproariously down the phone.
