Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 26-year-old man who has absconded from prison.



Andrew Robert Jones (pictured), of Central Way, Speke, was discovered missing from HMP Kirkham on September 9th at around 8.45pm.

He is currently serving a life sentence for aggravated vehicle taking, firearms offences and robbery after being convicted at Liverpool Crown Court in 2013.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Andrew Robert Jones has not been seen for several days after walking out of prison and we are now asking members of the public to get in touch straight away if they see him, or know where he may be.”

He is described as white, around 6ft 2ins tall, of medium build, with green eyes and red hair. He speaks with a Merseyside accent.

He has links to places across Merseyside, Cheshire, Manchester and Lancashire.
