Planning to build flats on the Fleetwood Pier site have been approved,



Similar plans for 15 new homes have been rejected for years but have finally now been accepted.

Campaigners against the scheme say it would ruin the seafront landscape, while those in favour say the plans would help to regenerate the town.

The people living opposite say they're dismayed at the decision.

Wyre Council have rubber stamped the move to create apartments for the over 50's.

The pier was destroyed by fire in 2008 and the site has been unoccupied ever since.
