Recruitment evening to boost children's services in Lancashire.

Lancashire County Council is holding a recruitment evening as part of a major transformation programme of Lancashire's children’s services team.

The council is looking for people who can help deliver quality services for children and their families throughout Lancashire.

There are jobs available across the county, at a variety of levels, including Team and Practice Managers, Independent Reviewing Officers, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Residential Workers.

There are also a number of part-time roles available within the council's Wellbeing, Prevention and Early Help Service, which provides targeted Early Help support to children, young people and families on a whole range of issues.

The recruitment evening will take place Wednesday 24 May 2017, between 5pm to 7pm at the Woodlands Conference Centre, Southport Road, Chorley, PR7 1QR.

Prospective applicants will have the opportunity to drop in and meet frontline staff and managers from the children’s services team. The team will share their own experiences and offer help and advice to those considering to apply for a job.

Amanda Hatton, Director of Children Services, said:

"Applicants will be able to find out about career progression opportunities, our generous benefits package, and the advantages of working for the fourth largest local authority in the country.

"The recruitment drive will enable caseloads to be reduced further and increase support for frontline staff. It will also create additional professional development and training opportunities and continue to improve the quality of practice.

"We offer opportunities to learn and work across a variety of geographical areas and diverse communities. Working here is interesting, varied, challenging and rewarding and I would like to encourage people to come to the recruitment evening and find out more."
