Fleetwood Town head coach Uwe Rosler says Saturday’s 1-0 win at Northampton Town was down to a solid team performance.

Devante Cole’s 75th goal combined with a string of incredible saves from Cod Army keeper Alex Cairns meant Town returned to Lancashire with all three points.

Rosler was quick to point out post-match the performance of the whole team after his side made it two wins for two in Sky Bet League One.

“We had ups and downs all game but they fought,” said Rosler.

“It was a solid performance from all of my players. Alex was superb today but his performance is a performance from the whole team.

“He made an absolutely unbelievable triple save and kept us in the game. To do it once was good but three times was brilliant.”

Town’s boss also reserved credit for Northampton, who slipped to their second straight defeat in the league.

“They were unlucky today, and probably better than us in all areas,” added the German.

“They should have been winning at half time but thanks to Alex we were still in it.

“In the second half were more fluid and more like how we usually are, but we need to make sure we play more like we did in the first fifteen minutes. If we do, we’ll certainly win more than we lose."
