Nominations are being sought for Wyre's most inspirational young people.

Every year the Mayor of Wyre presents the prestigious Sheraton Trophy to a rising star who has brought pride to the borough as a result of their achievements.

Wyre Council wants to hear about young people who have excelled in any walk of life, be it sport, the arts, community work, volunteering or achievement against the odds.

One deserving winner, chosen by outgoing Mayor Councillor Terry Lees, will be presented with the trophy at the council's annual meeting on Thursday 11 May.

Last year's trophy was awarded to volunteering star Steph Cartmell (pictured), in recognition of her volunteering work and the money she has raised for the Ryan Stanford Appeal.

Do you know an inspirational young person? To nominate them for this year's Sheraton Trophy, email andrea.mullin@wyre.gov.uk or write to Andrea Mullin, Wyre Council, Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, FY6 7PU.

There’s no age limit for nominees, however they must be in full time education. The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 24 March.
