If you’re looking for things to do this Easter, there’s lots going on in Wyre! From events, to craft sessions, walks and countryside activities we've got an Easter programme for everyone to enjoy.



If you want a place where you can be close to the environment and stretches of sand, then there is nowhere more perfect than Rossall Point Observation Tower. With two observation decks for birdwatching and taking in the views across Morecambe Bay, the tower provides a sense of relaxation and peace for those wishing to slow down. Enjoy a beach craft session at the tower on Wednesday 28 March and Wednesday 4 April from 11am to 3pm, where children can enjoy fun craft activities made from driftwood and beach treasures.
You can also get crafty at Wyre Estuary Country Park in Stanah on Thursday 29 March from 1.30pm to 3.00pm, come and make wooden Easter bunnies with the rangers.

Head over to Memorial Park in Fleetwood where you can enjoy workshops on 31 March and 3 April from noon to 3pm making poppies out of old plastic bottles. Working with Fleetwood Town Council, the local community are invited to get involved and help decorate Fleetwood with a sea of poppies to mark the centenary of World War One. The poppies will provide a beautiful display for visitors attending summer festivals including Fleetwood in Bloom which will be judged in July. There’s also an Easter event at Memorial Park, Fleetwood on Sunday 1st April from 11am to 1pm and a 'Crafty Afty' on Saturday 7 April from noon to 3pm.

Don’t miss the Easter Eggstravaganza at Hawthorn Park on Monday 2nd April. Come along from 2pm to 3pm and join in the Easter egg hunt, egg throwing competition and nature quiz. Open to those age 11 and under.
Families are also invited to get creative at Fleetwood Market with artist Linda Copeland. Bring your children to the art unit in the main hall for some messy creative play whilst strolling around the stalls. There’s two free events to choose from. There’s egg decorating on Tuesday 27 March between 10am and 4pm, don’t worry if your child is allergic to eggs bring them along and decorate one of our special eggs! Or there’s Easter card creating on Thursday 29 March between 10am and 4pm. Linda will be making Easter cards which you can collage, decorate, colour and paint! Face painting is also available for kids to have Easter bunny faces painted for free! There will also be an Easter egg design competition just come along and decorate one of the design sheets to enter. All entries will be displayed in the art unit and the competition will be run over the two days.

Fancy a bit of history at Easter time? Then why not visit Marsh Mill Windmill on 31 March and 1 April when the sails will turn, there will be craft activities for the children and you can take a tour of the Mill. Our beautifully restored Grade II listed tower mill is a blast to the past. Standing at over 70 feet, Marsh Mill is one of the tallest mills in Europe, and the best preserved windmill in the North West of England with much of the original machinery still intact.

Or if you’re looking for childcare over the holidays, try YMCA Thornton’s Holiday Club. Running from 26 March up to and including 6 April (excludes weekends and bank holidays) it is £15.50 for YMCA Fylde Coast members and £17.50 for non members per day. This action packed club will keep children aged five to 12 smiling all day long! They will be taking part in supervised activities including ten pin bowling at YMCA Bowl, Les Mills ‘virtual’ classes, Les Mills ‘born to move’ workshops, school yard games, arts and crafts, skating in Air Skate Park and much more! There’s also free swimming at YMCA Fleetwood from 26 March to and including 6 April during public swimming sessions (does not include fun swims, holiday activities or entry to Marine Splash) for children aged 16 and under. Just bring along proof of residency at an FY7 postcode, such as a recent utility bill or driving licence. Any children under the age of eight must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian aged 18 or over at a ratio of 2:1 as per normal swimming. Why not treat the kids to a trip to the theatre as Easter Bunny’s Eggs Factor arrives at Thornton Little Theatre on Wednesday 28 March at 1.30 pm. A music, song and fun filled family show, it’s particularly suitable for two to seven year olds and lasts for 40 minutes, followed by a meet, greet and treat with the Easter Bunny himself. Plus there’s a free Easter present for every child!

Wyre is blessed with many superb markets that you can enjoy up and down the borough. With the traditional market at Fleetwood, the hustle and bustle of the Monday market in Poulton, and the historic market of Garstang you’re bound to find something to your liking. Or if you simply feel like a breath of fresh air over the holidays then there are a variety of guided walks and cycling trails for the whole family to enjoy.
