Buddy Holly and the Cricketers, Jason Robinson OBE, Comedian Patrick Monahan and Point of Echoes in the March line up for Wyre's theatres.

March sees a host of new acts opening the new Spring programme at Wyre’s theatre venues, Marine Hall in Fleetwood and the Little Theatre in Thornton, offering music, entertainment, dance, theatre and comedy.

Buddy Holly and the Cricketers and The English Rock and Roll Orchestra play Marine Hall on Friday 2 March – bringing their very special 60th anniversary show celebrating Buddy’s only ever visit to the UK – backed by the English Rock and Roll Orchestra. This truly remarkable evening of classic Rock ‘n’ Roll will have the audience dancing in the aisles.

An evening with Jason Robinson OBE takes place at the Little Theatre in Thornton on Friday 2 March. Jason will talk through his career as an English dual-code international rugby league and rugby union player in the 1990s and 2000s. He will talk through his career from growing up with a single mother who worked as a cleaner, to overcoming depression and battles with alcohol, to become one of the best Rugby players of all time.

Point of Echoes is a haunting tale of love, death and monsters, blending the tones of a Wes Anderson movie with the eerie dread of The Twilight Zone. Renowned international choreographer Ben Wright and musician and writer Stuart Warwick collaborate to bring bgroup’s most intimate and theatrical production to date to the Waterfront Lounge at Marine Hall on Friday 9 March. Young dancers will also have the opportunity to take part in workshops with Ben Wright on the evening before the performance.

Multi award winning Patrick Monahan brings his brand new stand up ‘Rewind Selector 90s’ to Thornton on Saturday 10 March. The show is inspired by his Irish/Iranian/Teeside teens in the 90s. Cool Brittania, drink and drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll were some of the trademarks of the 1990s, but for teetotal and drug free Monahan, it was cake and tea and R ‘n’ B!
