Police are appealing for information about two men following an assault in Bispham.

Police were called around 8.30pm on October 6 to reports of an incident on Queen’s Promenade.



Around 8.10pm a 65-year-old man had been travelling on a tram when he got off close to Madison Avenue.

As he started walking towards Bispham Tram Station a man approached the victim from behind and grabbed him. A second man then punched the victim in the face.

The 65-year-old man fought back with both offenders making off from the scene.

The two men are described as wearing dark clothing and speaking with Burnley, possibly Bolton accents.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and are urging anyone with information to contact police.

PC Mark Finch, of Fleetwood Police, said: “An investigation is underway following a serious assault in Bispham.

“A man has been attacked after getting off a tram close to Madison Avenue and we want to find those responsible.

“If you witnessed the attack or saw two men running away from the scene at the time of the incident, please contact police.”
