The first phase of work to refurbish Cottam Hall pavilion has been undertaken following consultation.

Back in September 2016 an initial consultation asking about development and use of Cottam Hall pavilion was held with the local Poulton community by Blackpool Girls and Ladies FC and Wyre Cricket Club. A number of changes were suggested by local people including repairs to the outside of the building, fit for purpose changing rooms and toilets, facilities for spectators and visitors, better car parking and function room facilities.

Both clubs are now working closely with Wyre Council to put together a comprehensive plan to regenerate the pavilion based on the consultation results and needs of the clubs and local community.

The first phase of the refurbishment work is now complete this has included extensive repairs to all external doors, repaired and replaced roof tiles, replaced rotten and missing support posts and fitted new fascias. Repairs to the walkway have also been carried out and a complete external re-painting of the pavilion. Although a lot has been accomplished, works to the outside including looking at drainage and lighting need to become part of the next phase.

Phase two will involve drawing up plans for the interior works to take place and finishing off the outdoor works, however external funding will need to be sought. The ongoing support and fundraising of both Blackpool Girls and Ladies FC and Wyre Cricket Club continues apace and they are always looking for support, volunteers and new members!
