Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision on Garstang Road.

Officers were called at around 5:50pm on Thursday (1st February) following reports of a serious collision on the A586, near to the ‘Windy Harbour’ crossroads.



The collision involved three vehicles: a Land Rover Defender towing a twin-axle trailer, a Honda NC 750 motorcycle and an Isuzu Grafter.



The rider of the Honda, a man in his 30s from Thornton, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where sadly, he later died of his injuries.



A 37-year-old man from Preston and a 45-year-old man from Blackpool have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.



The road was closed for six hours while emergency services attended the scene.



Sergeant Marc Glass, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway following a fatal collision in Larbreck.

“A man has died and our thoughts are with the rider and his family at this extremely difficult time.

“The man’s family are being supported by trained officers.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police to come forward.”
