Wyre Council has taken precautions to deal with high tides and strong winds expected along the coastline at Cleveleys.

At present, we are not expecting any flooding issues however council officers are monitoring the situation closely and are on standby should conditions worsen.

As a precaution we have installed a number of storm boards at Cleveleys however access to the promenade remains at Cafe Cove and Victoria Road West.

Members of the public are advised to stay off the promenade and beach for their own safety during high tides, which are expected early in the afternoon and the early hours of the morning. Weather and tide times.

The Fleetwood to Knott End ferry service is running as normal at present.

The council will continue to monitor weather and tidal conditions in order to strike a balance between managing a genuine flood risk and unnecessarily restricting access to Wyre's seafront. However the protection of coastal and riverside properties remains our priority.

Storm boards and gates are expected to be removed on Friday 18 November.

Meanwhile, winter storm boards are being installed at Knott End as part of our normal preparations for the period.
