The latest Wyred Up business event offered delegates the opportunity to speed network with business support, training and apprenticeship providers.

The February Wyred Up business networking event was hosted at Fleetwood Town’s Poolfoot Farm Training ground in Thornton. Speed networking gave the delegates the opportunity to find out about business support, training and apprenticeships.

There were also presentations from Network Rail on the Great Northern Rail Project and Matt Hilton Director of Community and Education at Fleetwood Town Community Trust on the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility and strengthening links between the club and the community.

The speed networking tables were hosted by Training and Apprenticeships, Winning Pitch, North and Western Lancs Chamber of Commerce and Lancashire Skills Hub.

Mark Prince of Mark Safety commented “I like the way that the format of Wyred Up changes to keep it fresh, this event was definitely a useful learning experience.”

Jane Littlewood – Chair of Wyred Up – outlined what the Cleveleys Community Team had been up to recently and encouraged all Cleveleys-based businesses to get involved. “The speed networking approach provided a great opportunity for businesses to find out what support and funding is available” said Jane.

Peter Murphy, Wyre Council’s Economic Development portfolio holder commented “It was good to see another successful Wyred Up event at a great venue. We are looking forward to the next event in April and welcoming even more new members.”

“It was really useful and inspiring. I have come away with lots of ideas.” said Rebecca Fuce of the Fylde Coast Foreign Language Centre.
