What’s on the menu these days as Fleetwood Market Cafe opens its doors for business?

New cafe operator Colin Hind boasts almost 30 years in the food industry, during that time he has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience which he will now bring to his most recent business venture, Fleetwood Market Cafe. Colin says; “It’s quite simply named Fleetwood Market Cafe – as that’s exactly what it is!”
Fleetwood resident Colin added: “I have been working in the family-run business for 27 years, 17 of them I have been owner of Capricorn Cafe in the seaside town. I’ve worked in the food industry one way or another since leaving school. Starting my career at the North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood as a kitchen porter I then moved onto a supervisory role within a major supermarket. It was at this time that the opportunity arose to buy Capricorn Cafe.

When I found out the market cafe was up for lease I couldn’t let the chance go by. I know the industry very well; I enjoy working with the public and meeting people and I am now keen to expand my career in a busier environment and I can’t wait to become a part of the Fleetwood Market family. We offer a varied menu of breakfasts, toasties, salads and main meals with vegetarian options also provided. Customers can also enjoy a varied selection of fresh cream cakes too. Our first week of trading has exceeded my expectations – we’ve been rushed off our feet and long may it continue.”

The Mayor of Wyre, Councillor Terry Lees officially opened the café on Tuesday 15 November.

Councillor Pete Murphy, Cabinet member with responsibility for planning and economic development at Wyre Council, said: “The market café is a fundamental part of our retail offer here at Fleetwood Market and we are very pleased to have Colin and his team on-board. We continue to invest in this valued seaside town attraction and are keen to see it go from strength to strength. Fleetwood Market is home to many businesses; those established here for many years and new ones such as Colin’s. We look forward to seeing them all thrive today and in the future.”

Fleetwood Market is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9am – 4.30pm all year round, including Bank Holidays and Tram Sunday.
