Delicious Formby asparagus is now being sold in Booths stores across the area - and at least the supermarket knows where it comes from.
QLocal's Roger Blaxall - also PR officer for Friends of Real Lancashire - was heartened to see this in its Burscough store yesterday, identifying the delicious vegetable as coming from Formby, Lancashire.
This was in stark contrast to the dullards at Waitrose who had a special regional food week recently and feted food from Merseyside including Barton's pickles from St Helens. The last time Blaxall checked, Merseyside as a county disappeared in 1988 and ask any locals and they are proudly Lancastrians, not adopted Scousers!
