Glorious weather and some great team spirit saw this Saturday’s ‘Raise for Russ' event at Ormskirk Rugby Football Club raise a stunning £3,000 for the cause.
Highlights of the day were a charity rugby match, barbeque and family entertainment.
It also saw the unveiling of a new scrum machine bought by proceeds from similar events which have been organised over the last few years by local businessman Cliff Kirby (second picture, right)
The machine - which cost £4,500 - is emblazoned with a caricature of Russ who died three years ago after a brave battle with cancer.
The charity raises funds for both the rugby club and Hightown CC, two sports enjoyed by Russ.
