Qlocal was invited to the opening night of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical "Cats"
The junkyard set on which the cast perform has been improved, extra lighting features added. The first act of the show is adapted from TS Elliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.
The story explains how, on one special moonlight night of the year, all Jellicle cats meet at the Jellicle Ball where their wise leader, Old Deuteronomy, chooses who goes to the Heavenside Layer and be reborn into a new life.
Although difficult to understand for a first timer the music and dancing were fabulous.Added to the enjoyment was the trip through the aisles by the cast allowing the audience a close up of the Cats.
Brilliant choreography and skilful musical direction add to the enjoyment of a spectacular show which runs until Saturday.
