Sefton Council has approved the designation of a selective licensing scheme for all privately rented properties within parts of Bootle and an additional (HMO) licensing scheme for houses in multiple occupation in parts of Seaforth, Waterloo, Brighton-le-Sands and Southport.

This means from March 1, 2018, private landlords who rent out such properties will require a licence to do so from the Council.

Landlords will be required to meet a range of licence conditions, and show that they have appropriate management arrangements in place. Further details are available at www.sefton.gov.uk/housing/private-housing.

A public notice was issued following the approval.
