Scarisbrick Bed - what a coincidence - J. Nolan
I live close to Scarisbrick Hall in Lancashire, England, some may say I live just a Hall away.
The other day I was offered a bed that had presumably come from the Pugin's designed Scarisbrick Hall. The bed had supposedly been sold in an auction in the 1920s. When I saw the photograph of the bed I instantly realised that it was not a bed from the Hall and it was not of the period.
I was disappointed.
Just for interest sake when I got back to the office I put into GOOGLE.....
Scarisbrick Hall Pugin Bed..........
and guess what popped out...

My name J.Nolan.
It would seem a real Bed from Scarisbrick Hall was auctioned in the States by J.Nolan......... It brought over $80,000 by the way my name is J. Nolan and the owner of the bed was Cher the famous pop star and actress. By the way this J.Nolan, not me, also sold Michael Jackson's Bed............. this fellow must be into beds in a big way.
coincidence

I am going to post a secret about Cher's bed that may be of interest.
something Sher did not know and I bet J.Nolan did not know.........
that J.Nolan in the States not me.

I'm sorry John, but I don't like it! Not for a bed anyway--I like the head and foot--but I'd do something else with them other than frame a bed with them!
I know, I just don't know what's good, do I!

you are right in a way.
part of the bed is missing,
The auctioneer did not know that, nor did Cher.
I have the original catalog from the sale from Scarisbrick Hall
also there was not one bed but three all the same.
They where in fact half testers.
that is the beds had a half canape over the head board.
