"Do they want people to shop in Ormskirk?"
That’s the pointed question of one lady who regrets visiting the town after a car parking ‘episode’ in the infamous Two Saints car park.
Last week, she contacted QLocal with a plea for anyone who might have remembered the problems she encountered to contact reporter Roger Blaxall who’ll pass on their details.
Here’s her email:
'Dear Sir/madam,
I would be grateful if I might try to contact anyone who remembers assisting my husband & I back in November on the Two Saints Car Park, Park Road, Ormskirk.
We were attempting to pay for our stay but each time we put in the car registration number the fee showed as £00:00. The company monitoring the car park has issued us with a claim for £100, despite my explaining our problem.
It would help us considerably if anyone who tried to help us would get in touch to show that we are telling the truth.
Many thanks,
Jan Porter'

daytime trade in ormskirk seems to get less and less as the days go by
ive yet to meet a shop trader who has experienced an uplift in sales in the past twelve months .
maybe to the untrained eye it looks busy on market days but its far from it , why cant the market be spread more across the town using church street a bit more as less people are walking up that end of town it would also free up a bit of space in the town centre so people could walk around easier , the land to the back of church street which has been empty for 20 years could also be used for some kind of market use as nothing seems to be happening with it or even a coach park / overspill carpark im not 100% sure of the rules but i thought planning apps and such had to be implimented in a certain time scale ? the whole retail aspect of the town needs some looking at to use what we have to maxium effect , although i understand every town has the same issues there is still a lot ormskirk could do to help it along , i attended a meeting on the town centre statergy a few weeks ago and all i heard was how we have rebranded the town which probably cost a small fortune which i think could have been better used to help traders in a way of discounted rates or cheaper carparking . the whole thing needs shops and buisnesses to give the ideas and for them to be listened to for a change instead of hair brain ideas by council members thinking they know best , the shop owners are the ones who keep the town alive so START HELPING THEM AND LISTEN . JUST SAYING
