Ormskirk's Pontville School’s Head Teacher Justine Sims and teacher Lynne Morris were recently invited to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) and attended a very special presentation at Buckingham Palace.
During the day they witnessed members of the Royal family, including HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Earl of Wessex and HRH The Countess of Wessex, congratulate guests.
Pontville School - on Black Moss Lane, Ormskirk - were among the invitees because it offers the D of E award to pupils so that they can develop vital skills for life and for work, such as confidence, commitment, resilience and team work.
Throughout the years the school has witnessed outstanding personal achievements of pupils as they participate in the wide range of activities the award offers.
