The bells of Christ Church, Aughton rang out a very special celebratory peal on Sunday morning as the congregation celebrated a memorable 150th anniversary.
Said Vicar, Rev. Ross Moughtin: "It was a great service and the church was packed with the whole church family involved.
Special guest, the Bishop of Liverpool, Rt. Rev. Paul Bayes, gave a memorable address of how we love Jesus by telling people about Him, serving others in His name and giving as generously as God gives to us.
"As it was Mothering Sunday, he and curate Sarah O'Donoghue gave flowers to all the women in the congregation."
The service ended with the Bishop along with civic guests cutting a special 150th birthday cake.
