This is the dramatic aftermath of a serious car fire in Burscough yesterday morning which left a Peugeot 306 a blackened wreck.
Two fire engines were dispatched to Truscott Road to fight the blaze which also damaged the front of a terraced council house.
The car was collected off the driveway at about 2pm yesterday afternoon; no one was injured in the incident.
One eyewitness who contacted the newsdesk said: "Two engines called to a car fire in Truscott Road, flames fanning the house, car parked very close to the building, some sort of explosion heard according neighbours.
"The occupant may have been affected, not being able to exit the front door."
