Following news about the torched Council run toilets on Coronation Park, the Borough Council PR office has issued this statement: "The fire at the West Lancashire Borough Council-run toilets on Park Road, Ormskirk on Thursday 6 September caused minimal damage to the wall and ceiling decorations.
"Clean-up work has taken place and the toilets will be re-painted shortly as part of regular upkeep of internal decorations.
"The toilets remain open; Council staff regularly clean the affected stainless steel as they do their rounds, so the damage repair costs will be minimal and picked up under the general maintenance budget, not through the Council's insurance policy."
