A new national student survey has rated Edge Hill Students’ Union as one of the top dozen Students’ Unions in the UK.

More than 7,000 students cast their votes on university review website, StudentCrowd, in a survey to find which university offers the best Students’ Union experience.

Edge Hill Students’ Union was praised by students for the support given to them in difficult times and the breadth of new events offered over the past year.

SU President, Joe Bradford, told QLocal yesterday: "Edge Hill Students’ Union has undergone vast changes over the past two years!

"We're doing more than ever to engage with as many students as possible, through a more effective representation structure, sports and societies, our Advice Centre, and our events and commercial outlets. We’re by no means at the finish line, but this award is a great sign to show we’re moving in the right direction.”

Interestingly, Edge Hill Students’ Union was the only North West-based Students’ Union to make the top 20, with several major city and London universities also failing to hit the list.

The StudentCrowd 2018 Awards aim to help prospective students choose the right university for them and help universities improve their offering.

StudentCrowd Director, Paul Humphries, said: “The 2018 Best Students’ Union Awards were designed to showcase the very best in class when it comes to Students’ Unions. As opposed to other 'Best Of' lists like this, our awards are based completely off thousands of reviews from students themselves.
