An Ormskirk pensioner has told of her frightening ordeal after she fell into the Hurlston Brook while walking her dog on Churchfields.
The lady - in her late 70's and from Brook Lane - fell head first into the brook through long grass on the bank.
The alarm was raised by a fellow dog walker who saw her dog sat nearby and went to investigate; on seeing her plight he immediately raised the alarm; paramedics attended the scene last Wednesday afternoon at around 5pm.
QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall spoke to the lady - who we are not naming - after her ordeal.
"I was really frightened and I didn’t know how long I might be there and who’d come to me rescue. I’m so glad the man saw me and raised the alarm, otherwise who knows what might have happened?”
She has since made a good recovery with some minor cuts to her head.
