The Rainbow House Las Vegas Ball held at the Guild Hall, Preston last month raised an amazing £50,000 for the conductive education charity based in Mawdesley, Lancashire.

After enjoying a welcome drink on arrival, 300 guests sat down to a three course dinner followed by live entertainment from Dance with Passion and the fabulous 'Elvis Presley' alias Steve Halliday.

In the first of two auctions, one lucky lady, Joanne McCallum from Bretherton (right) won a pair of diamond earrings donated by HSBC for the Diamond Draw.

During the evening Rainbow House launched their new DVD which captured their work and the benefits to the both those who take part in the conductive education
programme and their families. The DVD was made by Sam Budd with music by permission of Francis Rockcliffe.

The event was supported by C2V+ and Ward and Burke; Darren Hynes, Operations Director of C2V+ told QLocal: "As a growing business, it is important that we take the time to support charitable organisations and give something back to the local community.

"To fit with our North West based sites, we were looking for a charity which is local to the region which we could partner for the next year.

"I visited Rainbow House earlier this year and there was a beautiful young girl walking towards me independently for the first time. As a father I was so emotional and moved at the really good work this charity delivers on a daily basis to those in need.

"Partnering Rainbow House means we can give back to the local community and get all our sites involved in events and fundraising and provide much needed support to a fantastic organisation. So far we have supported the Rainbow Ramble, taken part in Total Warrior, worked on the grounds at the charity, held team building days whilst refreshing their gardens, along with supporting the Las Vegas Ball with one our partners, Ward and Burke.

We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Rainbow House.”

Carole Cochrane, Chief Executive, Rainbow House, said “Our thanks go to C2V+ and Ward and Burke for their fantastic support and to the Event Committee, entertainers and everyone who has donated prizes and their time to make the evening so successful but especially to all the guests for helping raise such a fantastic amount.”
