Past and present staff, pupils, parents and governors gathered on Friday to celebrate the end of 60th Anniversary year of St Bede's Catholic High School with a Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King Liverpool.
Archbishop Malcom McMahon was the principal celebrant and Fr Godric Timney OSB delivered the a thoughtful homily.
The music was beautifully lead by a 100 strong choir of pupils, staff and parents. and there was dramatic and evocative reflection on the parable of the mustard seed, which reflects the school Mission statement.
Headteacher Chris Horrocks paid tribute to all those who had been part of the school community over the past 60 years with Coun Noel Delaney, deputy mayor of West Lancashire, also in attendance.
The Mass was the culmination of a year long celebration of the life of the school; on the previous Saturday 200 past pupils, parents and staff attended an enjoyable celebration evening in the school which saw quality entertainment from past and present pupils, including comedian Jon Culshaw and boxer Tony Bellew: http://ormskirk.qlocal.co.uk/ormskir...s-55022793.htm
