Treasury Minister David Gauke visited west Lancashire to see how business is booming across the borough.
Gauke - Chief Secretary to the Treasury - visited Ormskirk Market and Thomas Guy Haulage in Burscough with Conservative County Councillor David Westley and Councillor Eddie Pope, the candidate for Burscough and Rufford.
After the visit, Mr Gauke said: "I was delighted to visit Thomas Guy Haulage in Burscough and Ormskirk Market, which is made up of fantastic small independents, such as the family run Wilkinson's butchers.
"Both are a sign that across Lancashire, small businesses and firms are benefiting from the strong economic growth that we're seeing."
Thanking Mr Gauke for visiting, Cllr. Westley said: "It was great to have a senior minister visit West Lancashire and clear evidence of just how important the economy of Lancashire is to the Conservative government."
During his visit to the market, Gauke met Gaynor Wilkinson owner of Wilkinsons the butcher and in Burscough, Nigel Guy of Thomas Guy Haulage.
