There's usually a buzz about Ormskirk School on any normal A level results morning.
Staff, pupils and parents all gather in anticipation to collect the results of their hard work in the exams - but yesterday morning was a lot different...
For the first time, the School decided to e mail results to candidates with just a few showing up to chat to teachers about any issues they had.
It seems the school's following the lead of other local colleges but the move took the shine off the day, and wasn't well received by everyone as this e mail from one Aughton parent reveals...
'Are you aware that the A Level students at Sixth Form at Ormskirk School who are getting their results have been contacted and advised they will receive their results by email at 6am?
This is the first time they haven't allowed students to collect results in person in college.
I know lots of students and parents are appalled by this.
Where is the face to face support when students actually receive their results and they are not the grades they were hoping for?
Will the college be open and honest about this when promoting the college?'
It's not known if the move to email students was to save money and if, given feedback, it will be implemented every year from now on.
Meanwhile, as to the actual results, the School emailed the busy QLocal newsdesk yesterday afternoon with this press release from head teacher Martin Kerridge: "It is testament to the hard work and commitment of our students and staff that this
year’s results build on the excellent outcomes achieved last year.
"80% of entries achieved a C grade or above. Over 50% of our A Level students achieved 3 A*-C grades, with a further increase in the proportion of A* and A grades resulting in an average grade per entry of a ‘B-‘. Students following applied general and vocational courses also continued to achieve excellent outcomes, with an average grade per entry of a ‘Distinction-‘.
"It is also pleasing to note our 100% pass rate.
"These achievements allow our students to follow the path of their choice, whether
that be into higher education, apprenticeships or other further training. A significant number of our students will now progress to top universities and we are able to celebrate some exceptional individual performances.
"We believe that our Sixth Form College provides a wonderful opportunity for students to fulfil their potential in a caring and vibrant community and we look forward to more students joining us in September."

I believe that students should be rewarded for their work. They should be facilitated by some unimportant homework. For example, they can use the best law essay writing service papersowl.com for writing This will greatly accelerate the time of education and you can devote more time to family and friends.
