Police use stinger to stop stolen vehicle at 5.00am today.
A vehicle that was stolen in Southport and being pursued by Merseyside Police and the national Police Air Service Helicopter was driven into Lancashire where is was successfully brought to a stop on the A59 close to the Rufford Arms after being stung by Lancashire police who had taken over the pursuit.
The driver was arrested at the scene.
