Longsuffering Ormskirk folk will have another year of disruption as work by Virgin to get the town connected to its fibre broadband network continues.

Last week, a Virgin media PR officer confirmed the news, telling QLocal's Roger Blaxall: "Dependent on weather conditions, the full plan to connect Ormskirk could take up to a year.

Virgin Media is currently expanding its network in Ormskirk to bring ultrafast broadband speeds to more homes and businesses in the area.

"As we do so, we endeavour to minimise disruption and complete work as quickly as possible for the local community," she said.

"We thank residents for their patience during this time.”

The installation's being done on behalf of Virgin by a team of self employed contractors from Derbyshire based company NAC3 who've been praised for the standard of their work by many locals.

From what I have witnessed , they may be doing a good job getting us connected, but sweeping a lot of small rubble down our grids ,rather than clearing it up ,will only lead to a problem with blocked drains once they have cleared off
