Notices have appeared in the windows of a well known Ormskirk bakery shop announcing its imminent demise.



Waterfields will close tomorrow after around 30 years in the town; it moved into its current Moor St shop after originally opening at the end of Aughton St.

The fate of its staff is now known; QLocal exclusively broke the sad story a few weeks ago after a tip off from one of its many readers.

Shame to see so many shops closing in ormskirk town centre , passed through town a few times last week and the town was empty !
No wonder more places are closing on a Monday due to lack of trade , and yet we are told ormskirk has the lowest rate of closed units !
