The toast was the Friends of St Bedes after members organised a very successful ‘blind wine tasting’ evening on Saturday.

After initial slow ticket sales, it was attended by 79 people and John Needham, mine host, was entertaining throughout.

The various wines flowed freely and the quiz questions came thick and fast – a big thank you to Nicola Moss, who along with the Friends, put together the successful fund raiser to improve the St. Bede's School hall.

Approximately £1000 was raised during the night thanks to sponsors from local businesses, ticket sales, raffles and games.

Jess Robinson, Chairperson of FOSB told QLocal this afternoon: “Those who attended said they had thoroughly enjoyed it.

“We would like to thank everyone who supported the evening'.

FOSB would like to publicly thank the following business for its sponsorship: John Moss Jeweller, Co-Op Funeral Care, etyres Wigan, R.Draper Ltd, Ormskirk Chiropractor and Countrywide upvc (UK) Ltd.
