Age UK Lancashire is in the money after teaming up with Prudential UK help local older people get the most out of life.

It’s been awarded a grant as part of the partnership between Age UK and Prudential UK to offer a new service that links older people in Lancashire with local support to help resolve some of life’s tough challenges.

The ‘Later Life Links’ programme which has just launched will see trained staff and volunteers provide older people with access to relevant and appropriate information, support, advice and links to services to tackle all sorts of issues.

These can range from feeling lonely and isolated to problems accessing good care, dealing with bereavement or even help getting online.

The charity’s now encouraging older people, carers and family members in Lancashire to get in touch to benefit from the bespoke advice on offer. Support through the service is available either over the phone on 0300 303 1234 or in their various centre’s across the county open 5 days a week Monday to Friday.

Stephanie Tufft, Chief Officer of Age UK Lancashire, told QLocal this morning: “We’re really grateful to Prudential UK for funding this programme in Lancashire which will enable us to help older people link in to all the local services they need.

“That could be an Age UK benefits advice session or a local befriending service or simply a list of social activities happening in the area.

“Events that occur in later life aren’t always that easy to cope with, but with this programme we are providing a real lifeline to older people, their friends and families.”

Added Guy Dunlop, Executive Director at Prudential UK: “We are extremely proud to be partnering with Age UK on Later Life Links and delighted that it will be available in Lancashire.

The programme will provide a comprehensive support and advice service that will be tailored to each individual. Ultimately, we want to enable older people to get the most out of life.”
