SEFTON’S top performing sixth form college is opening its doors to potential new students at the end of June.

Hundreds of future sixth formers are preparing to head to Southport’s King George V College, which is currently rated top of a national educational league table.

A huge range of activities will be on offer at KGV on June 28 including interactive taster lessons and campus tours recorded live on Snapchat!

Budding sixth formers will get the chance to get stuck into a wide range of subjects, from music technology, film and media studies, to traditional academic disciplines such as arts, humanities and science A levels.

Prospective students will be able to find out about exciting trips to places including Paris, Iceland and Berlin, as well as extracurricular opportunities such as hugely successful college musicals, the KGV Sports Academy and the College’s Teachers of Tomorrow programme.

There will also be a chance to experience live music, enjoy a complimentary lunch and chat with teachers, as well as to make new friends and mingle.

Jane Rowley, Director of Study Programmes at KGV, said, “This day will give students an insight into the skills that they will need in college, and also an opportunity to make friends and to meet their teachers.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming our new students as part of the exciting times and the continuing success story at KGV.”

All students who attend the Applicant Day can receive a free ticket to KGVs upcoming Film Night on Friday 30th June. The College will screen the hit film The Jungle Book (2016), which stars Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken, in the Theatre of the Creative Arts Building.
