Report from Bob Ireland

QLocal is pleased to report the forthcoming programme for the WLHA with all forthcoming events at Hurlston Hall Golf Club near Ormskirk.

The first event is on Wednesday 18th January and is 'THE TRUE HISTORY BEHIND VIKING VOICES' by Paul Atherton; it starts at 7:30 pm. and admission is free to all; no prior booking needed.

The second event of the New Year - and continuing the Viking theme - is the Founders Lecture Lunch; this is on the 12th of February and is at 12:30 for 1pm. The meal is at cost and is £18.00 each to members and non-members alike.

The Founder Lecture is 'VIKING CONNECTIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS - USE OF RUNES' by Prof. Judith Jesch of Nottingham University - many will remember Judith from the Viking Lancashire talks at Emmanuel Church, Langham Hall from March 2016 where she and her colleagues, Prof. Steven Harding and Dr David Griffiths, gave talks on Vikings in Lancashire. Judith was such a good speaker she has been asked back by popular demand, this is another one not to be missed.

Tickets from Bob Ireland on 0777 985 2172 and or Patrick Waite on 01695 573350.
