Cllr Paul Greenall, Conservative Candidate for West Lancashire (East) in May's County Council Elections, is calling for much needed road safety improvements at two busy junctions in Ormskirk town centre.

At one junction opposite the bus station and another junction near Kwik Fit, there are no pedestrian crossing facilities, making it very dangerous for people to cross these busy roads, as they have to dash when a gap appears in the traffic.

As Borough Councillor for Derby Ward, Cllr Greenall has raised these issues many times over the years. Unfortunately, given that highways are a County Council matter, Cllr Greenall's ability to influence things has been limited and no action has therefore been taken, and so these dangerous junctions remain.

Paul told QLocal: "I find this situation completely unacceptable as pedestrians should not have to take a chance and dash across these busy roads when heading into or out of Ormskirk town centre. If I get to County Hall in May, I will not let this matter rest until pedestrian crossings are installed at both of these junctions".
