A talented West Lancashire College student was a finalist at the prestigious British Education Awards in Convent Garden, London.
Former Burscough Priory High pupil Hannah Fairclough was nominated in the Vocational Category for her ‘focus and determination’ during her Public Services BTEC National Diploma Level 3 programme at the college.
The awards event - the first of its kind - honours students from across the UK for exemplary academic and extracurricular achievement; Hannah joined the course part way through the academic year and with the support of the college and her course tutors excelled on the programme.
The college said her motivation and outstanding competence levels in her studies has resulted in her being on target to the necessary grades in September with a view to progress to the University of Nottingham to study a BA in criminology.
Mike Cooney, public services tutor at West Lancashire College, told QLocal: “We are extremely proud of Hannah for this fabulous achievement, she has worked so hard and deserves this recognition.”
